Michael Jon Maple is one of the fastest growing, up and coming superstars in the hairdressing industry. Michael Jon was born in Los Angeles, California. He began hairdressing school at the age of 15. Highly motivated to become a hairdresser, he attended beauty school at night while he was finishing high school during the day. His goal was to graduate and go on to study with some of the greatest hairdressers in the world.

By the age of 17 Michael Jon had his first chance to work with Christopher and Sonia Dove. They are two of the best-known hairdressers in the US and abroad. Michael Jon worked with them when they opened their first salon in the US in Santa Monica California. They are best known as the International Artistic Directors for Wella.

At the young age of 18 Michael Jon moved to Pennsylvania to work alongside one of the greatest colorist in the US, Patrick McIvor. McIvor who is now the Matrix Artistic Color Director, was also a National Technical Training Manager, Color Director and International Haircolor Educator for Redken. Michael's education in color under Patrick's guidance has been an unbelievable experience he will cherish forever.

Now at 19 years old, Michael Jon's haircutting journey has landed him in Manhattan, NY working with Nick Arrojo at Arrojo Studio. Nick was televisions hair makeover star on TLC's What Not To Wear. Nick is best known for his mastery in haircutting where he had a distinguished career with Vidal Sassoon, was Bumble & Bumble's Director of Education, a Global Master for Aveda and now Nick holds the prestigious position of Special Creative Artist for Wella. In 2001 Nick launched Arrojo Studio, a custom built salon including Arrojo Education, Arrojo Creative and Arrojo Color. Michael Jon had the privilege to be at the Arrojo Academy and complete three intense educational classes including Arrojo Boot Camp, Arrojo Classic Cuts and Arrojo Inspiration. Michael Jon now takes that experience to the cutting floor at Arrojo Studio and is selectively taking guests as models to demonstrate his genius creativity.
